Eastern Caribbean
Talc-smooth beaches and cobalt seas are plentiful, but the Eastern Caribbean is exceptionally noted for its shopping. Locally produced arts and crafts, fashions, and jewelry stand out amongst a plethora of duty-free goods. Especially great finds are in St. Thomas and Nassau.
An Eastern Caribbean cruise, usually 7 nights, is the most relaxing of all the Caribbean cruises. An equal mix of sightseeing in port and activities on board the ship results in a leisurely pace. Ports typically include St. Thomas, St. John, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Tortola and Nassau.
Western Caribbean
Western Caribbean’s most vivacious cultures and compelling natural wonders are impressive, but the treasures of ancient Mayans make the region so distinct. Archaeological bluffs, archaic temples and religious caves bear the reminders of this lost civilization.
Western Caribbean cruises offer more variety and activity than Eastern Caribbean cruises, and often feature both Caribbean and Mexican ports. Most 4, 5 or 7 days cruises sail amongst Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios and Key West.
