New Brunswick is a land of vast virgin forests, rushing rivers where salmon run freem and fierce tides that are the wonder of the world. It is also the home of tidy farms in gentle valleys, stately Georgian manors on cobbled streets, tea at four, and two distinct cultures - the Acadian French and Loyalist English, who have co-existed peacefully for four centuries. St. John is Canada's oldest incorporated city, founded by Samuel de Champlain in 1604. Most of its residents are decendants of Loyalists from the American revolution.
