DRIVE TO RABAT Rabat is the capital of Morocco and the second most important city after Casablanca. Continuing on we cross the Ziz River, passing rows of sky-scraping palm trees and fortified villages before reaching our hotel in Erfoud late in the day. We visit the holy city of Rissani, with its 18th century ksar, a virtually impenetrable warren of alleys; and the ruins of Ksar Abbar fortress.
