Meru | In a small village on the slopes of Mt. Meru, we will visit a local school where the children may meet and interact and share in the daily activities of their new Tanzanian friends. You will have the opportunity to join in or listen as the children sing songs and perhaps we'll all play a game of soccer. Enjoy a traditional lunch in your guide's home. This is home to the Hadza, a people who represent the last hunter-gathers in Tanzania. This ancient way of life is fast disappearing, but despite the fact that the Hadza are undergoing the slow transition away from hunting and gathering, their fascinating lifestyle will intrigue you. With luck, we will meet the Mbulu people, who farm the lands. For the next day and half, we will explore this area by foot and vehicle, letting serendipity and circumstance decide our movements. You may have the opportunity to join a campsite of Hadza bushmen, where the Young Adventurers can learn how to shoot a bow and arrow with the Hadza children.
