After check-in there's time at leisure to explore. Tonight, enjoy a welcome drink with your Tour Director. (Dinner)Hotel: The Heritage Hotel | | Day 4 | Fran Josef | We board the TranzAlpine train for a journey to Arthur's Pass. At Punakaiki see the Pancake Rocks and blowholes. Continue to Hokitika to see native greenstone (jade), then to Franz Josef Glacier. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Franz Josef Glacier Hotel | | Day 5 | Queenstown | Today's journey takes us along the coastal road and then climbs the Haast Pass. Continue through to the historic village of Arrowtown and later, on to Queenstown. (Buffet Breakfast)Hotel: Millennium Hotel | | Day 6 | Queenstown | Enjoy a full day at leisure. Perhaps take a thrilling jet boat ride or just relax. This evening, we join the vintage steamship T.S.S. Earnslaw and cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak sheep station for a carvery dinner. (Buffet breakfast / Highlight Dinner) | | Day 7 | Te Anau | Drive through the Homer Tunnel, stopping briefly at the Chasm before arriving at Milford Sound for a cruise. Continue to Te Anau. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Village Inn | | Day 8 | Dunedin | After breakfast, we travel across the fertile country of South Otago and on through Gore to Balclutha. Continue to Dunedin, founded by Scottish settlers. On arrival your afternoon is at leisure. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Southern Cross Hotel | | Day 9 | Twizel | Enjoy a guided tour at Larnach Castle, followed by sightseeing in Dunedin. From here we continue our journey through Oamaru and follow the Waitaki River to Twizel. Later visit Lake Tekapo to see the Church of the Good Shepherd, then continue across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch. Discover the sights of the city on the Christchurch Tram.
